How to play
A Murdoku takes a few minutes to learn. Here is everything you need.
Read the clue cards
Each suspect states something true about where they were. The victim's card always says the same thing: they were alone with the murderer.
Rule squares out
You will usually know where someone was NOT before you know where they were. Tap a square once to place the selected suspect, again to mark it a maybe, again to rule them out of it, and once more to clear it. Every suspect can be marked separately on the same square.
1. Tap once — place
The selected suspect stands here.
The same square, four taps in a row. Every suspect keeps their own marks on a square. One tap does everything
There are no tools to switch between. Pick a suspect from the list, then tap squares — the same gesture works with a mouse, a finger or a stylus. Cycling one square through its states counts as a single click towards your score.
Name the murderer
Once everyone is placed, accuse. The murderer is whoever shares the victim's room.
What the words mean
- Alone — nobody else was in that room, not even the victim.
- Beside — directly above, below, left or right, and in the same room.
- Area or room — one enclosed section of the grid, drawn with thick walls.
- North, south, east, west — anywhere on the grid in that direction, walls included.
- Swipe to change suspect — On a phone, swipe left or right across the board to move to the next or previous suspect — no need to reach for the list.
